Charging My E-Cigarette Battery: FAQs
Just like your mobile phone, your e-cigarette battery requires charging. The good thing is that you probably won’t have to charge your e-cig as often as your phone but it is important that you do it properly. Recently, we received some enquiries from customers regarding the charging of VIP e-cigarettes.
We thought it best to write about it so that you have something to refer to anytime you need it. Here is a list of the most commonly asked questions we get from vapers:
Q1. Can I use my brand new e-cigarette straight away?
Yes. Your e-cigarette starter kit comes with filters, a lithium re-chargeable battery and a USB charger. When you get the battery it will already be 60% charged so you can start using it straight away. As you inhale, you will notice that the LED light at the end of the e-cigarette glows. Once it starts to flash several times, it is time to charge the battery.
Q2. How do I charge my e-cigarette?
Charging your e-cigarette is a very simple process. Simply unscrew your cartridge from the battery and put it away in your case for later use. Then, gently screw your battery into the USB Charger and plug the USB charger into your computer to charge. Your computer must be switched on for the battery to charge. While the battery is charging, the LED light will remain on. When it is finished charging the LED light will switch off. Once the LED light switches off, you can safely eject the USB charger from your computer and plug it out. Then gently screw the battery out of the USB charger and it is ready to be screwed back into the cartridge. You are now ready to vape again!
Q3. But what if I’m not near a computer?
No problem! There are three other types of chargers that you can purchase as accessories with your VIP e-cigarette starter kit. It might be handy to have an in-car charger adaptor so you can charge your e-cigarette battery when you are on the way to work in the morning. There’s also a 3-pin wall adaptor to charge your battery which you can plug in anywhere around the house. If you are going on holidays or just want the freedom of being able to charge your battery anywhere, a good option could be the Taurus PCC-5s portable case with push-charge technology.
Q4. How long do I have to charge it for?
On average a battery will take between 2 hours and 2.5 hours to charge fully. You will know it is fully charged when the LED light goes out. If you need the e-cigarette in a hurry you can charge it for a little while but we would recommend that you always charge it fully to ensure a longer battery life.
Q5. How long does the charge last?
A full battery charge provides up to 150 puffs. Inhaling 5 to 7 times is comparable to smoking a full cigarette so it depends on your usage. For a light user, the battery charge should last for 24+ hours. For a medium user it should last 8 hours and for a heavy user it should last 3 hours.
Q6. Is there anywhere else I can get information on how to charge my e-cigarette?
Yes. We spoke about the Vaping Community in an earlier post and how there are many vapers out there just like you with questions about vaping. Fortunately there are also lots of answers out there regarding the best ways to charge your e-cigarette. Check out the E-cigarette Forum on getting started with vaping.
